I'm loving the Voting Channel! It's something to kill 10-15 minutes with once or twice a week, kicking back on your couch. To me, the Wii's interface feels like interactive television.

The questions are fun! Can you touch your nose with your tongue? Can you do a cartwheel? I like that it's sticking to non-serious issues. And it's actually interesting to see how people answer! I wonder why only 3 states think a cheesecake is a pie, I think it's a pie by the way. What's up with the culture in those states?

It's cool that the Voting Channel's also multiplayer so anyone in the room can grab their Mii and join in.

It leads me to believe some sort of trivia game would be excellent to have on the Wii! Maybe like Jeopardy, but multiple choice. Mix it up with some action games/activities like Mario Party. It could have updated categories online, so it could have questions relating to current issues.

I haven't experimented with Check Mii out yet, because I've only made one Mii of myself so far, but I'm looking forward to what fun little applications they add in the future. Hopefully soon.

There's a great use of this in Earthbound, but I won't allow myself to discuss here because I'd ruin the ending.

Just go play it! I still have to myself. I've barely touched it, but the fantastic ending of Earthbound was ruined for me by a friend. . . .

I think that sounds like a great idea. I wonder where it came from inside of Nintendo. Maybe it is just to collect data.

Your scenario for how the data might be used reminds me of a couple games.

In Dragon Warrior 3 for Gameboy Color you're presented with a series of questions at the beginning. I was looking through an FAQ on GameFAQS and found that it was pretty elaborate (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbcolor/file/450388/31341). The basic idea is that it gives you some questions, you answer Yes or No, then it gives you an interactive scenario that you play out. Depending on how you play it out determines what personality your hero has (which only affects stats! :( ). But it's an awesome idea! And surprised the hell out of me when I played it.

Animal Crossing does a similar thing. At the beginning you're in a taxi and the driver asks you some questions. After a few questions he makes the assumption of if you're a boy or girl. If he's wrong you can correct him. I believe how you answer the questions determines how your character looks, and possibly how the character in the games treat you.

When we have more games about reality, that can be affected by reality, maybe we'll see more serious issues. But do we want that anyway?

I can never decide on a favorite color by the way. I hope they include an "I don't know! I can't decide..." option.
